Monitoring energy usage with smart plugs Prometheus and Grafana
https://ounapuu.ee/posts/2024/05/02/smartplugs/
This post isnโt a detailed line-by-line tutorial on how to set up each individual piece of the setup as those types of guides tend to get out of date really easily, but if you know your way around Linux and the command line, then you can definitely replicate this setup on your own.
Over the past few years Iโve been interested in learning about how much energy my computing setup and home appliances use. Iโve used a simple digital energy meter before to get instantaneous readings, but that was not ideal for monitoring how an electrical appliance consumes power over a longer time period.

netstat without netstat ยท Staaldraad
https://staaldraad.github.io/2017/12/20/netstat-without-netstat/
Recently I was doing an assessment in a locked down and restricted environment. One of the first actions you tend to do when landing a shell on a [linux] box is to do some reconnaissance. This is both on host and network, as you want to determine what new access this host has given you. Normally you would run netstat, ifconfig, ip route etc to determine if the compromised host is connected to any other hosts and to determine if there are other network segments you do not know about.
